Updated and Effective from: September 2024
Purpose
- To reduce mismanagement of Member funding, and ensure services are sustainable until the end of Member’s NDIS plan
- To ensure Helpers are paid on time
- To explain payment collection options when NDIS funding is depleted
Policy
We need our Member’s cooperation in managing their NDIS funding, to ensure Members have consistent support throughout their plan, and Helpers can be paid on time for their services. By signing a Service Agreement and agreeing to receive services from Lend A Friend, Members:
- Agree to notify Lend A Friend if their NDIS funding is running low
- Understand that if NDIS funding for our supports has run out, the Service Agreement Members have with us is no longer valid and we have the right to cease services immediately
- Understand that Lend A Friend will submit the signed Service Agreement to the Member’s Plan Manager, and the estimated costs of services will be allocated for our services
In order to make sure any services already provided can be paid, in situations where there is not enough NDIS funding in a Members plan, we have two options for our Members:
- By default, by agreeing to receive services from Lend A Friend, if we have outstanding invoices for services and there is no NDIS funding available to pay for these invoices, Members agree to pay privately for any outstanding invoices
- Where Members agree to sign two consent forms, one for us to speak to the NDIA, and one for us to speak to their Plan Manager, Lend A Friend will absolve any responsibility for Members to pay for outstanding invoices privately. Instead, any outstanding invoices will be considered the responsibility of the Plan Manager to solve, or will be a fault of Lend A Friend for not monitoring funds better. We will go through a Manual Claims process to seek recovery of outstanding amounts
