The NDIS Code of Conduct requires Helpers and Providers delivering NDIS supports to:
- Act with respect for individual rights to freedom of expression, self-determination, and decision-making in accordance with relevant laws and conventions
- Respect the privacy of people with disability
- Provide supports and services in a safe and competent manner with care and skill
- Act with integrity, honesty, and transparency
- Promptly take steps to raise and act on concerns about matters that might have an impact on the quality and safety of supports provided to people with disability
- Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to all forms of violence, exploitation, neglect, and abuse
- Take all reasonable steps to prevent and respond to sexual misconduct
In addition to the NDIS Code of Conduct, Lend A Friend requires all Helpers and workers to also:
- Act with care and diligence
- Treat everyone with respect and courtesy, and without harassment
- Comply with all applicable Australian laws
- Comply with any lawful and reasonable direction given by someone in the Helper’s Agency who has authority to give the direction
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality about dealings that the Helper has with any Participant or Provider
- Take reasonable steps to avoid any conflict of interest (real or apparent) and disclose details of any material personal interest of the worker in connection with the worker’s engagement with Lend A Friend
- Use Lend A Friend’s resources in a proper manner and for a proper purpose
- Not provide false or misleading information in response to a request for information that is made for official purposes in connection with the worker’s engagement with Lend A Friend
- Not improperly use inside information or the worker's duties, status, power or authority:
- To gain, or seek to gain, a benefit or an advantage for the worker or any other person; or
- To cause, or to seek to cause, detriment to the Provider, Participant, or any other person
- At all times behave in a way that upholds the Values and Worker Principles, and the integrity and good reputation of Lend A Friend
